Fantasy sports giant DraftKings is scheduled to unveil a new sports betting lounge at the del Lago Resort and Casino this Friday, 23rd of August. The grand opening of the New York-based sportsbook will see an impressive list of representatives make their way upstate for the ribbon-cutting ceremony. The opening has long been coming, following the del Lago Casino receiving the go-ahead from the New York Gaming Commission. The license was contingent on the gambling establishment reducing the number of slots and table games on the casino floor. The space would be used to make room for the sportsbook lounge.

del Lago Resort & Casino Make Room for Sports Betting Lounge

The New York casino underwent multi-million-dollar reconstruction of the casino floor. The betting lounge is intended to have the same look as all DraftKings outlets. They broke ground back in May, before the voting process in June by the Gaming Commission to approve the sportsbook. The space will take up more than 1,000 square feet of the casino floor. There will be several television screens showing different sports events throughout the year. Approximately 200 patrons can be seated in the venue’s restaurant and bar, along with 23 self-service betting stations.

Guests That Will Attend the Grand Opening

This is a big moment for sports betting in Seneca County. All of the stakeholders will be in attendance for the grand opening. The leadership of the casino will be present, including the chairman and managing partner of Peninsula Pacific M. Brent Stevens. He is the owner of del Lago and will be joined by the executive vice president and general manager of the establishment Lance Young. Representing DraftKings will be chief business officer Ezra Kucharz and former NFL quarterback Donovan McNabb.

Bettors should note though, under the rules finalized by the state, the del Lago casino may only accept wagers on site. This means that online betting and by extension mobile betting remains banned. Not to worry though, you can still find legal casino sites from the list we recommended for US players at www.casinous.com.
