Online wagering is now a reality with the recent launch of iGaming in the state of Pennsylvania. Fans of gambling living in PA can now access their favorite real money casino games anywhere and at any time.

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) announced on Thursday, July 18 that they’ve given three casino licenses to launch an online casino platform. Parx Casino in Bensalem and Penn National’s Hollywood Casino near Hershey are the two casinos that were given approval for providing online gambling sites. The launch of iGaming in PA comes after several days of testing the platform. Additionally, the SugarHouse Casino in Philadelphia is currently completing its two days of testing. They are expecting to launch on Friday, 19 July.

The three land-based casinos will be offering slot games and tables games like roulette and blackjack on their iGaming platforms. This move is all a result of Pennsylvania’s 2017 expansion gaming law. In this legislation, land-based casino operators could purchase separate licences for online slots, poker, and other casino games. Getting a license for all three gaming option cost a pretty $10 million.

Currently, Parx Casino is offering video poker on its iGaming services. Because the software systems are still under review by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, it plans to introduce live dealer poker in the near future. Parx’s online casino is accessible through PC, Mac, and on Android mobile devices. However, they are working on making it compatible with iOS operating systems and are awaiting approval from Apple.

With the launch of the iGaming platform, Pennsylvania joins Delaware, Nevada, and New Jersey as being the only states to fully legalise online gambling. Furthermore, it’s America’s second state for commercial casino revenue, coming in just behind Nevada, making US$3.3 billion a year.
