Former National Football League (NFL) pro-bowler, Adam Pacman Jones has been arrested for allegedly cheating a casino in Indiana. The athlete was said to have been cheating at a table game at the Rising Star Casino in Indiana, which sits just outside of the city of Cincinnati, where he once used to play.
Upon being confronted with the allegation of cheating, Jones became disorderly and was supposedly confrontational with IGC Enforcement Agents. As a result, Jones is facing possible charges of cheating a casino, intimidation, public intoxication as well as resisting arrest. It is important to note that the investigation is still ongoing so some of these charges may not be pursued.
Pacman Jones No Stranger to Trouble
This is not the first time that Pacman Jones has been in trouble with the law. The former football player has a myriad of arrests on his record for charges such as speeding, assaults, harassment, marijuana possession and obstructing official business, among others.
The bulk of the charges came early on in Jones’ career. The athlete’s most infamous brush with the law occurred in 2007, when a brawl broke out at Las Vegas strip club that saw three people get shot. Ultimately, he was sentenced to one year of probation and was suspended from the NFL for a year.
The athlete’s last arrest was in 2017 for disorderly conduct and assault. The result of this arrest was a two-day jail sentence and one a game suspension in the NFL.
Jones is one of many athletes across multiple professional sporting leagues in the United States to have accrued a criminal record. It is estimated that in the NFL, a total of 81 players have been arrested and/or charged with criminal activity.
What will happen to Jones (who has still not announced his retirement from professional football) remains to be seen. For more updates on this story and more, keep it here at CasinoUS.com.
