OYO Hotels buys Hooter Casino Las Vegas
Indian based hotel company, OYO Hotels has bought popular Las Vegas casino, Hooters. Come 2020 what gamblers knew as Hooters casino will become the OYO Hotel & Casino Las Vegas. Hooters was created to resemble the sports bar chain that had unconventional waitresses. The casino, which is located near the Las Vegas strip, is seen as one of the last value-oriented properties. The rebranding of the property will see several changes but will keep a few favorites. The renovations include an addition of gamblers most-loved amenities.
About OYO Hotels
The purchase of Hooters is OYO Hotels first foray into the most prominent gambling destination in the United States. The gaming floor will be 35 000 square feet, which is the current Hooters gaming space. As it stands, the gaming floor has 370 gaming machines, more than 20 table games and a William Hill sportsbook.
The Sale Transitions
Hooters is OYO’s first activity in Nevada, which could potentially cause regulatory issues. The terms of the deal were not disclosed; however, a few exciting changes were mentioned in the press release based on the sale. The properties name will change to OYO Hotel & Casino Las Vegas. A few aspects will not be modified, such as the Hooters restaurant that will be kept.
Paragon gaming, which is a Las Vegas-based gaming company, will also continue managing the casino. Highgate will assume the overall management of the property. Chairwoman of Paragon Gaming, Diana Bennett said they have had great success managing Hooters Casino and are looking forward to continuing as the casino managers.
In regards to the regulatory issues, Rachel Henry, who is an account director for Kirvin Doak communication, said OYO would not have to obtain a Nevada gaming license. The Nevada Gaming Commission said the company would maintain its license through Paragon Gaming who is Hooters license holder. The transition conversation is expected to be finalized before the end of the year.
No news has been shared on whether or not the venue will close temporarily to make way for the renovations. Hooters is not the only casino getting a makeover in Las Vegas. Establishments, such as Hard Rock, are also undergoing restoration. The OYO Hotel & Casino may not be the Indian company’s only venture.
