The Sale Transitions

Hooters is OYO’s first activity in Nevada, which could potentially cause regulatory issues. The terms of the deal were not disclosed; however, a few exciting changes were mentioned in the press release based on the sale. The properties name will change to OYO Hotel & Casino Las Vegas. A few aspects will not be modified, such as the Hooters restaurant that will be kept.

Paragon gaming, which is a Las Vegas-based gaming company, will also continue managing the casino. Highgate will assume the overall management of the property. Chairwoman of Paragon Gaming, Diana Bennett said they have had great success managing Hooters Casino and are looking forward to continuing as the casino managers.

In regards to the regulatory issues, Rachel Henry, who is an account director for Kirvin Doak communication, said OYO would not have to obtain a Nevada gaming license. The Nevada Gaming Commission said the company would maintain its license through Paragon Gaming who is Hooters license holder. The transition conversation is expected to be finalized before the end of the year.
