Colorado Casinos Eager to Open a Retail and Mobile Sportsbook

Colorado casinos have sent in their application for licenses that will permit them to run web-based, mobile and land-based sportsbooks. The Central State accepted the legislation in November, according to The Denver newspaper.

It’s expected that the state will be in operation in May. This license is a requirement for any company planning on building a sportsbook or running it digitally. The parties involved are keen to launch their sportsbooks soon.

Interested Venues

Double Eagle Hotel and Casino, Midnight Rose Hotel and Casino, Central City’s Dostal Alley Casino, JP McGill’s Hotel and Casino, The Brass Ass Casino are awaiting approval. The Colorado Limited Gaming Control Commission will allow these places to have a variety of sports which also includes eSports. However, the establishments will have to give 10% of their revenue to the state said Denver News.

The above venues are not the only ones that applied, Monarch Casino Resort Spa and Saratoga Casino also requested a license. The state hopes that the businesses will contribute about $29 million to their water plan.

Colorado Casinos Many Need to Wait

Co-owner of Dostal Alley Casino, Buddy Schmalz spoke to The Denver about how keen he is to open their land-based sportsbook and the digital aspects that come with it. With that said, he is not sure that both will launch at the beginning of May. Both these services must each have licenses from the Colorado Limited Gaming Control Commission. At the moment there are around 50 applications that need to be processed.

Other huge Colorado casinos have already started working on their digital sportsbooks. Double Eagle Hotel and Casino followed by Century Casinos Incorporated are well on their way.
