Cleveland Browns to Miss NFL Playoffs Says Las Vegas

The Cleveland Browns are probably the most talked about NFL team at the moment. With the Browns having taken long strides in building a competitive team for next season, many have backed the side to possibly win Superbowl 54, or at the very least make the playoffs. Las Vegas sportsbooks don’t seem to agree with this idea though. Many seem to believe that the current furore surrounding the Browns may be blown out of proportion. Westgate SuperBook director told John Murray stated that the team competes in a tough division, with teams like the Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens looking to be good prospects to make it out of the division too. The sportsbook has pegged the Browns at -110 to make it to the playoffs as well as not to make it too. This means that there is 52.38% chance that the team will not make it.

Cleveland Browns Team Growth

The hype surrounding the Cleveland Browns isn’t unwarranted though. The team acquired Baker Mayfield in last year’s draft, and the team showed a marked improvement from their 1-31 performance in the 2016-17 season. Earlier this year, they also acquired former New York Giants superstar, Odell Beckham Jr in a trade that saw the Browns lose their first-round pick and second third round pick. Along with Beckham, they also got Greedy Williams who proved to have a good season for LSU last season. Upon his selection, Williams told reporters that the Cleveland Browns would be going to the Superbowl next year. Due to all of this, there are some sportsbooks that have declared the Browns favorites to win the AFC North. This is all despite the fact that the team has not won their division since competing in the AFC Central over thirty years ago. The New England Patriots are still strong favorites to retain the Vince Lombardi trophy. Along with them, the Los Angeles Rams and Kansas City Chiefs are also getting a lot of attention.
