FastPick is the new daily sports operator that has officially started accepting players in New Jersey. The new provider is taking a new and interesting approach to daily fantasy sports that some say blurs the line between sports betting and fantasy sports. What makes FastPick unique is that players are competing against the casino as opposed to other players. It is currently being offered by Resorts Digital Gaming.

Why FastPick Does It Differently

The reason behind the gameplay change is that FastPicks wants to eliminate sharks, who tend to win most of the money in regular daily fantasy sports on sites like DraftKings and FanDuel. The term shark is used to refer to experienced players who have collected tons of data over time to make the best possible picks.

The way it works is, players need to pick three head-to-head matchups, or more. These could be things like a quarterback duel between Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers. The winner of the duel will be determined by which player received the most fantasy points during the game. For the player to win, they need to win all of the head-to-head matches against the casino’s roster.

At this time, FastPicks is only available on the Internet within the state of New Jersey. However, Resort Casino hotel has said it will consider creating space for FastPicks in its casino.

FastPick House Edge & Payout

The industry in New Jersey is still waiting for daily fantasy sports to become 100% legal in New Jersey, as the bill doing so still needs to be signed off by Governor Chris Christie. In gambling, the house always wins, so this will still be true for FastPicks. FastPicks will employ sports data experts to track every aspect and ensure the casinos know which players have the best chances of winning.

One interesting aspect of FastPicks is that the more head-to-head matchups the player chooses, the better their payout will be. If you choose the minimum three picks, the payout is 5x. However, choosing ten picks means you get a 500x payout. Keep in mind though, all of your picks have to win, so if nine win but one loses, the house still wins.
