Hard Rock Opens Casino Information Centre in Rockford

A Casino information centre was recently launched in Rockford. Hard Rock International has long since proposed for a gambling house in Rockford. Guitarist, Rick Nielsen, from Cheap Trick was also in attendance to celebrate the opening of this centre. Guests who were in attendance were given branded T-shirts and stickers. Last month Hard Rock International announced their plans to open a casino house in Forest City. The plans have been placed at the former Clock Tower Resort which is situated on East State Street. Hard Rock and the Rock River West Group are two of the organisations that plan to submit proposals for a gambling house in Rockford. These proposals are expected to be considered after the 30th of August. Since Governor J.B Pritzker signed a gaming expansion bill into law in June, there has been a push to have a casino in Rockford by many invested groups. The expansion bill allows Rockford and other cities in Illinois to consider brick-and-mortar gambling houses.

Rockford Casino Information Centre First Step to a land-based Casino

Hard Rock international told the press that the casino information centre is the first step to developing a gambling industry in Rockford. However, political pressure seems to be scaring investors away from setting up casinos in Rockford. Ron Clewer, President of the Gorman Illinois Market, told the media that there was a potential casino operator that backed out of the consideration of a Rockford casino. There were reports that Winnebago County Economic Development Committee was considering a resolution to move the location of the casino to an I-90 location. President Clewer did not reveal who the potential operator was.

Overview

Clewer further told the media that it is essential for supporters of the Rockford Casino to come out. Rock River West Group and Hard Rock International remain the two contenders for operating a Rockford Casino. The Rockford Casino information centre is located at 308 W. State Street.
