Hard Rock has recently announced its plans to renovate and overhaul the Trump Taj Casino and Hotel in Atlantic City. Once complete, it will be officially known as Hard Rock Atlantic City. For anyone who is a fan of the current design of the building, they’ll likely be disappointed, as Hard Rock is planning extensive renovations that will completely change the look of the building.
Hard Rock to change Trump Taj
Many of the distinctive design choices for the Trump Taj will be removed with the renovations planned by Hard Rock. These changes will include removing the minarets and getting rid of the faux Mughal architecture. Perhaps the most distinctive feature, the dome, will also be removed. This is the dome hat made Donald Trump say he had created the eighth wonder of the world.
Instead, visitors to the location will be greeted by clean, modern straight lines, plenty of electric guitars and a more contemporary look that is less in-your-face. These renovations are currently set to cost around $375 million to complete.
Once the renovations are complete, the Hard Rock Atlantic will have two arenas that can seat a total of 7000 people. There will also be over 2400 slot machines, a spa, and plenty of other excitement for visitors.
Hard Rock Committed to Atlantic City
With this new investment, it has become clear that Hard Rock is serious about its commitment to Atlantic City. Despite the difficult times that the city has endured recently, it is still the second biggest gambling market in the United States. Hard Rock is hoping that this investment in the Trump Taj Mahal will also help to rejuvenate and bring more exciting opportunities to the city.
The governor of New Jersey, Chris Christie, was also present at the announcement of the plans and shared Hard Rock’s enthusiasm and excitement. Renovations are expected to be complete in around 12 months’ time, with the opening scheduled to take place in the summer of 2018.
