Trump Plaza Ownership

Billionaire Carl Icahn assumed ownership of the Trump Plaza from bankruptcy in 2016. Trump had cut ties with Atlantic City in 2009. Before its extinguishment, the only thing that tied him to the city is a small stake in the Trump Plaza in return for the usage of his name. the other two casinos that were once owned by trump are now operating under new brands.

The Golden Nugget was once Trump Marina, and the Trump Taj Mahal is now Hard Rock. The press of Atlantic City reported that Icahn had not obtained a demolition permit as his efforts to receive funding from a state agency had not succeeded. The state agency funding would go towards the cost of the demolition of the Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino.
