Gambling in Kansas comes from an extensive history dating back to the late 1900s. Kansas is one of the states that were known as a gambling hub. The number of US casinos in the state is spread across seven popular cities.
Casinos have a lot to offer, similar to the state. When players aren’t placing bets at casino tables, they can be found visiting state parks or enjoying a good slice of pizza from Pizza Hut.
Placing bets at your favorite slot machine or playing online roulette may be lots of fun; however, players have to know where the state stands with gambling. Our overview of US gambling laws covers the national picture. The Sunflower State has strict gambling regulations, but gambling in the state is not as restricted. History of Gambling
Bingo was one of the first games to be legalized in the state, and almost 12 years later voters took to the polls to amend the constitution to allow for the expansion of gambling. The lottery, as well as racing, was legalized in the referendum.
From the mid-1990s to the early 2000s, there were ongoing attempts to legalize casinos and racetracks. Four native casinos were given the go-ahead in 1995. For a neighboring state with a larger tribal gaming market, see our guide to Oklahoma gambling laws. In 2007, voters approved the state to have commercial casinos under the Kansas Expanded Lottery Act.
Kansas Online Gambling
Web-based gambling is in a gray area as of 2009, when lawmakers outlined that gambling on the internet is illegal. The state legislature does not mention web-based gambling, and as it stands, no laws are banning or prohibiting web-based gambling. Players can enjoy casino games online without worrying about being arrested or committing illegal acts. Players near the eastern border can also compare online gambling in Missouri.
