History of Gambling
Bingo was one of the first games to be legalized in the state and almost 12 years voter took to the polls to amend the constitution to allow for the expansion of gambling. The lottery as well racing was legalized in the referendum.
From eth mid-1990s to the early 2000s there were ongoing attempts to legalize casino and racetracks. Four native casinos were given the go-ahead in 1995. In 2007 voters approved for the state to have commercial casinos under the Kansas Expanded Lottery act.
