The Choctaw PGA Championship partnership is official. Choctaw Casinos & Resorts is now the first Official Casino Resort in the tournament’s 111-year history. The title arrives ahead of the 2027 PGA Championship at PGA Frisco in Texas.
The PGA of America announced the news on August 31, 2026. Choctaw also picked up the title of Official Community Partner for the event. Both titles cover the tournament’s return to North Texas.
What the Choctaw PGA Championship Deal Covers
The deal centers on hospitality, not sports betting. Choctaw will transform the Ice House at PGA Frisco into the “Choctaw Ice House” for tournament week.
The venue becomes a climate-controlled, all-inclusive hospitality space. Guests get exclusive food and drinks, specialty cocktails, and branded gifts. Ticket holders also gain access to a viewing area behind the ninth green.
Choctaw already sold out every daily VIP ticket for the Ice House experience. That sellout happened months before the tournament even begins.
Inside the Sold-Out 2027 PGA Championship
The 2027 PGA Championship runs May 17 through 23 at PGA Frisco, about 25 miles north of Dallas. The PGA of America expects roughly 200,000 spectators on-site across the week.
Every championship-round ticket is already gone, with nine months still left before the event. That demand shows real weight behind Choctaw’s decision to lock in a major sponsorship this early.
The event carries extra history for Texas golf fans. It marks the first men’s major championship in the state in more than five decades. North Texas has not hosted a PGA Championship in over 60 years.
The 2027 tournament also lands on a milestone anniversary. It marks 100 years since the first PGA Championship played in Texas. That event took place at Cedar Crest in Dallas in 1927.
Choctaw’s Long History with Texas Golf
This is not Choctaw’s first tee time with Texas golf fans. The Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma already sponsors the Charles Schwab Challenge at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth. It also presents the PGA Tour Champions’ Invited Celebrity Classic in Irving.
Both events sit within easy driving distance of Choctaw’s southeastern Oklahoma casinos in Durant, Grant, and Pocola. Texans already make up a large share of visitors at those resorts. Golf sponsorships give the tribe a direct line to that audience.
The Choctaw PGA Championship deal builds on that strategy on a much bigger stage.
Why the Choctaw PGA Championship Deal Matters
Golf’s governing bodies keep leaning into gambling-adjacent sponsorships. The PGA of America named ESPN Bet its Official Sports Betting Sponsor back in 2024. That deal ended early when ESPN Bet shut down in December 2025.
Choctaw’s title works differently. It skips sports betting entirely and focuses on hospitality and community ties instead. That distinction matters, since sports betting stays illegal in both Texas and Oklahoma.
This setup lets the PGA Championship add a gaming-industry partner without touching betting rules in either state. For Choctaw, the exposure reaches golf fans well beyond its usual Oklahoma casino market.
Championship-round tickets for the 2027 PGA Championship are gone. Grounds passes and hospitality access may still open up as the event gets closer. Casinous will keep tracking Choctaw’s sponsorship moves as more Ice House details come out.
