2019 Superbowl LIII (53)Highlights

Superbowl LIII has been quite dramatic to say the least. The Superbowl 53 final was an iconic match which although had the lowest score was highly exciting. The national anthem was sung by the legendary Gladys Knight. However, it’s the halftime entertainment by Maroon 5 that left a divisive wedge in public opinion. The match itself between the New England Patriots and the Los Angeles Rams was a highly competitive match. Both sides put up a great defensive fight. We’ll go through what were some of our biggest highlights of the event. superbowl-53rd-edition-2019

Superbowl 53 Final Match

This Superbowl LIII final edition had no easy victories on the agenda. This year’s Superbowl created a record for the lowest scoring final of all time. This may have thrown off the odds for Americans who enjoy online gambling and betting. This record was previously held by a game between Miami and Washington in 1973 which ended as 14-7 score. This is testament to the calibre of teams that were playing. Both sides put up a great fight in which the New England Patriots came out resoundingly victorious with a 13-3 score against the Los Angeles Rams. New England Patriots Tom Brady secured his sixth Super Bowl ring as quarterback. He broke a record he previously shared with Charles Haley. The action seemed to be packed to the dying minutes of the game as the touch down happened in the last 7 Minutes of the game. Tom Brady’s perfect pass to Rob Gronkowski across 34-yards seamlessly set up Sony Michel for the game’s only touchdown.  Although the Patriots were victorious, Brady acknowledged that the Rams were formidable opponents and “they made it tough on every play.”

2019 Superbowl Game and Entertainment Highlights

As with Superbowl tradition, a famed singer always performs the National Anthem before the game starts. Superbowl 53 had the honor of Gladys Knight’s powerful and soulful delivery of The Star Bangled Banner. The halftime show which is usually electric was handled by Maroon Five with Travis Scott and Big Boi. One would expect the crowds to be raving for such a star-studded halftime show but social media was not impressed.
