Coushatta Casino Resort Announces $150M Luxury Hotel Expansion
Since its opening in 1995, the resort has become a premier destination, boasting nearly 2,000 slot machines, a bingo room, 55 live dealer table games, off-track betting, and a sportsbook. Additionally, guests can enjoy a variety of amenities. These amenities include eight dining options. The resort also offers 20,000 square feet of meeting space. Furthermore, guests can access an 18-hole championship golf course. There’s also an outdoor pool complex available. And lastly, the resort features a concert venue accommodating over 4,000 people.

Coushatta Hotel Expansion’s Positive Impact on Local Economy

This groundbreaking new luxury hotel expansion is scheduled for Wednesday, March 20, marking a significant milestone for the owners, the Coushatta Tribe. The addition of 204 rooms will bring the total number of hotel accommodations at the resort to over 1,000, with approximately half of the new rooms designated as suites. Although the hotel has yet to be named, the excitement is building among stakeholders.

Standing eight stories tall, the hotel will be conveniently located just steps away from the bustling casino floor. This will provide guests with easy access to entertainment and gaming options. Following the completion of the hotel, the tribe plans to further renovate the existing casino and dining establishments. According to some reports, the tribe will further add new restaurant spaces to further enhance the guest experience.

Jonathan Cernek, Tribal Chairman of the Coushatta Tribe, expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming developments, stating that as construction begins, “we are excited about all the new venues and upgrades that we will be able to offer our guests, starting with this new hotel.” Jonathan added that their goal is to offer players an “elevated gaming experience,” which will include high-end dining options and top-quality lodgings.

In addition to improving the guest experience, the expansion project is expected to create 150 to 200 permanent jobs, which will provide a boost to the local economy.

Coushatta Unfazed by Texas Casino Competition

Despite ongoing efforts to legalize commercial casino resorts in neighboring Texas, the Coushatta Casino Resort remains undeterred in its expansion plans. With investments totaling $150 million, the tribe is demonstrating its commitment to providing world-class entertainment and hospitality services to visitors from across the region.

The expansion of the Coushatta Casino Resort is part of a larger trend of growth within the Louisiana gaming market. Other notable developments include the recent renovation of the Horseshoe, now operated by Caesars Entertainment, and the transformation of the former Diamond Jacks property in Bossier City into the Live! Casino & Hotel Louisiana is set to open in 2025.

Conclusion

Despite challenges posed by the fluctuating gaming landscape, Louisiana’s casino industry remains lucrative. Total revenue reached $2.028 billion during the state’s 2023 fiscal year. The Coushatta Casino Resort continues to evolve and expand, and it is thus poised to remain a key player in the vibrant Louisiana gaming market for years to come.
