The DraftKings app for sports betting has been launched in Iowa. This makes the mobile sports betting app available in six states in the United States. The president of DraftKings in North America, Matt Kalish, told the media that they had seen a steady growth of fan engagement in Iowa over the last few months. He further said that they were excited to provide customers their top-notch DraftKings apps.
Kalish also said that the mobile sports betting app would allow bettors the ability to gamble safely and responsibly. The best part is that people have the convenience of betting. The DraftKings app makes it the 5th sports betting app to go live in Iowa. These include William Hill, PointsBet, Hard Rock as well as Elite Sportsbook. Caesars and FanDuel are the only two sportsbooks operating in Iowa without a mobile app in the state.
Bettors Will have to be 21 and Older to Access the DraftKings App
The gambling law in Iowa requires customers to be 21-years-old and older to gamble online. This means that residents will have to be 21 and older to be able to access the DraftKings App. Until the end of the year, bettors living in Iowa will also have to personally show up at a casino and register for an online betting account. This particular law will be scrapped at the end of the year. The DraftKings app can be accessed by residents living in six states in the US. These states include Pennsylvania, Indiana, West Virginia as well as New Hampshire.
The President of Wild Rose Casino, Tom Timmons, told the media that since they have launched the DraftKings sportsbook in the casino people have been asking for the app. He further said the timing of the DraftKings app was perfect since the NCAA basketball tournament is approaching.
